This book examines the relationship that white evangelicals have had with President Trump. It explores how this part of the Church lost track of its purpose by engaging with political power for the sake of policy but at the expense of kingdom principles.
The author considers the warning in the book of Revelation of an ungodly and power-hungry leader called "the beast" that people, including Christians, would have to endure intermittently throughout history.
The effect Trump has had on the American evangelical milieu and mission gets considered with the benefits and drawbacks of having engaged with Trumpism. Was backing Trump to influence the political and social culture the right decision? Or was the beast awakened, albeit America's version?
