Les Fleurs du mal: The Flowers of Evil and other poems

This new bilingual edition by poet-translator John E. Tidball represents the most complete collection of Baudelaire's poetry available today. The 1861 edition of Les Fleurs du mal is followed by the poems of Les Épaves (Wreckage), published in Brussels in 1866 and including the six banned poems from the first edition of 1857. Also included in this comprehensive edition are the additional poems that were published posthumously in 1868. The original French texts are complemented by carefully crafted verse translations on the facing page. The illustrations are taken from various early editions of Les Fleurs du mal.
