I wasn't a stellar student at all. If anything, I had my foibles and rebellion that landed me in one interesting situation after another. What I do know is that high school at Ursuline Academy in Dallas was about the most significant moment of my life. It defined me as a woman and brought about the challenges that led me to college in Austin and to the many moves around the United States in the subsequent decades thereafter. I treasure the 1970s high school years, and wouldn't trade any of it for a moment.
But I was a rebel, that's a given.
