Samhain is our traditional first day of the new year. This is a tradition recognized by witches, Wiccans, druids, Celts, and other pagans world-wide. As October turns to November, this festival of the dead marks summer's end and the coming winter months ahead.
This is a time of feasting from the last harvest of the fields and animals, and usually a time of bonfires, connecting with ancestors, and a gathering of community.
Spirits are to be appeased with offerings of food and drink in order to keep the livestock safe over the coming winter months.
This book is for those of us who need a compilation of recipes at our fingertips for Pagan Sabbats and Esbats. We have "Feast-ivals" in abundance and this can be a useful resource for your special days. The recipes stay true to seasonal options to honor the old ways.
Also included are a few short stories about Samhain for your witchlings!
I've looked for something similar myself for quite some time, so I'm hopeful that I've filled a need!
Enjoy and eat well!
