Throughout herstory there have been many wise women. Often we do not have a written record of these women who taught this wisdom quietly in their kitchens and their gardens. When we look back into our own family herstories we find them in the leaves, roots, and branches of our own clan's trees. They are the women who whispered in our ears the secret ingredient for a recipe, when to plant, when to weed or harvest.
It doesn't matter what our religion is or what theirs was, the wisdom is woven in every family's tapestry. In some cultures they spit or blew on us to protect us from evil or gave us a broom when we moved to a new home because it is bad luck to bring the broom from the old house. We learned various traditions and types of healings from a time when a doctor was not available or affordable. As we collect these stories like tattered cloth from an old quilt, we reattach all the little pieces to help us remember our legacy.
Wise Woman Craft is for all women in the process of relearning and remembering their grandmothers' wisdom.
