Solomon ibn Gabirol (Malaga; c. 1021-Valencia; c. 1058), transliterated Selomoh ben Yehudah ibn Gabirol (Hebrew: שלמה בן יהודה אבן גבירול), Sulaymān ibn Yaḥyà ibn Ŷabīrūl (Arabic: سليمان بن يحيى بن جبيرول) or Avicebron, as he was known to the Latins, was a Spanish-Jewish Andalusian philosopher and poet.
He was probably the greatest Neoplatonist of the medieval Arabic philosophical tradition, and possibly also the greatest medieval Hebrew poet.
