Description

More than five decades after the end of the British nuclear tests, a few remaining survivors of the 76 Squadron Nuclear Cloud Flyers met for a reunion in the RAF Club in London. During the intervening years they had scattered around the globe and followed a variety of different careers. The gathering was the usual camaraderie, bon homie and 'line shooting' (boasting) to be expected from a tiny group of nuclear survivors. Most of the stories they recounted were far too outlandish to be taken seriously. But shortly after reading a variety of related documents, it became obvious that everyone had been telling the truth! There was a serious disconnect between what they were told at the time by Nuclear Task Force Command, and what actually occurred. Digging out other facts led to a series of probes into what did take place. In summary, the investigative reporting revealed the malfeasances perpetrated by the British Government, through the Ministry of Defence, in using military personnel as 'guinea pigs' throughout the entire nuclear weapons development programme. The Ministry of Defence manipulated the data and information. It manipulated the entire legal system and denied the truth. They had the money, the power and the instrumentation to suppress and control the truth. This book is a small compendium of just a few of the investigative reports that document the barbarism conducted by the Ministry of Defence, all condoned by the British Government. Told in the light of day, when secrets are no longer secret. This is speaking truth to power!
