After years of hesitation, Park Brady is sharing his real story with real names and events that took place in the 1980s.
Park's story begins with a conviction. He's forced to leave home with little money or processions for Medellin Colombia. What follows is a series of adventures both good and bad. From an attempted kidnapping in the jungle to starting over in Colorado, Park chronicles his time of personal reassessment.
"I concluded that I did not like the person I had become as the result of his business success in Winter Park Florida. In some way, God - or whoever - slapped me down and made me face myself as a person. My time in Colombia was life changing. Losing everything I had, not being able to pay my debts, having to leave friends and family, and not being able to control my personal and business life was devastating."
Park's story about his time in Colombia tells of a formative period in a man's life. It's full of constant adventure, wildlife, friendship, risk-taking, imminent fear, reflection, and redemption.
"It took me as long as it did- until now as I write this - to confront that part of my life. Fortunately, I kept a handful of notes of my almost two years in Colombia. Had it not been for what got me there, it would not have been quite the adventure. I wrote this book to pass on to others that you must keep going no matter how bad things get. If you take this approach to the low tides of your life's voyage, you might even amaze yourself on the way. There is a real danger once you reach a certain age and success as a man. That danger is hubris which can take everything away from you."
The names are real, the characters are real, and the events are accurate. This is my story.
