This started happening in my early 20s, when I learned of Douglas Hofstadter's 'strange loops' in Gödel, Escher, Bach. It continued with Jorge Luis Borges' Library of Babel, where all possible books reside. John Searle's Chinese Room; the untold stories of Paleolithic humanity - the list has grown and grown over the years.
In this collection of chapters from various books of mine, many disciplines are explored: science, math, history, neuroscience, sociology, linguistics - even the origins of the idea of God. Even so, this is just a sampler: the parade of little-known but amazing ideas in the universe is endless, and it's a deep joy to explore them - a joy I thought I'd share. I hope you enjoy them, too!
