I Am Bloc: Children's Book about Autism, Neurodiversity, Inclusion

Bloc is the new kid at pre-school and she is scared to be different. Written from an Autistic point-of-view, I Am Bloc is a beautifully illustrated picture book about being different, specifically, about being Autistic. Through showing Bloc's idiosyncratic traits and unique strengths, "I Am Bloc" is a book to remind both the young and young-at-heart that different is not less.

The book is made up of 38 full-color pages and texts are written in Dyslexie (a Dyslexia-friendly font). The characters in the books are diverse in shapes, expressions and abilities.

For young children, ages 3-6, this book is a wonderful way to introduce them to vocabularies around neurodivergence and how someone can appear different at school or in public places.

For older children and adults, Autistic or not, it is a book about acceptance and hope - it is about how inclusion in classroom can be achieved so as long as we start instilling these values in the next generations.
