Some have gone before us in the christian journey whose stories are written in the Bible. These stories are written not just for history, but also for us; to learn a lesson or two from their lives, to emulate their strength and faith, and to avoid their weaknesses and pitfalls. The lives of our patriarchs in faith serve as a guide to us, their stories let us see how they walked with God, it also helps us to know and understand deeper who God is and how He deals with men. This is in addition to our personal relationship with Him.
The exemplary lives of Daniel, David, Job, Jonah, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego, Deborah, Esther, Gideon (whom we will be studying in this book), and a host of others are worth studying and learning from. While we look up to Jesus Christ and copy His lifestyle, we also learn from the lives of our patriarchs.
The story of Gideon is found in the book of Judges Chapters 6,7, and 8. As we look into the person and life of Gideon, I pray that we would pick one or two practical lessons from his life.
Takes readers' through the life and times of a great man: Gideon.
