Shen Kuo: Discoverer of true north and climate change

Did you know that the first person to discover true north and climate change was a Chinese man in the 11th century? Learn more about his life, how he developed a love of learning and wrote a book to share his knowledge with the world!

'Shen Kuo - Discoverer of true north and climate change' is a beautifully illustrated biography about a natural scientist whose incredible research detailed how compasses really work and how climate changes over time.

Written and published independently by Young Trees Education, the book features outstanding illustrations by Emanuel Colban.

History is filled with people who had a positive impact on the world, but whose stories are known by so few. Our aim is to change that. Our Story is made up of their stories, and through learning about them we can aspire to reach our own potential and leave a bright and lasting legacy.

This is a 40 page children's book which includes questions and a craft activity, a glossary and pronunciation guide at the end as well as a QR code linking to further information about Shen Kuo for our young readers to interact with.

We are also delighted to have partnered with CAMFED to provide one day of schooling for a young girl in Africa with each book purchased.
