Four Military Masters

Not every fencing instructor worked within a salle or made the transition from military to civilian fencing master. Many of the most interesting fencing methods were created by men who worked their entire career training soldiers within military institutions far from the limelight. While their contributions have regularly been ignored and dismissed by fencing historians, this book aims to help correct this mistake by making high-quality translations of Dierkes, Hermann, Chalaupka, and the "Anonymous 1900" available to English-language audiences for the first time.
