True friendships are rare; true friendships between a man and a woman even more so; and ones based solely in a non-physical, spiritual, and intellectual manner, unheard of. That was Kelvin and I though. A true friendship, forged in common interest and an undying passion for the world around us and all it had to offer. Helen Keller once referenced the importance of a true friendship saying it was far better to walk with a friend in the dark than to walk alone in the light. Kelvin and I didn't walk; we ran, danced, paraded through life. This story, our story, is a testament to that. To our time in the light and a resilience to the dark places life can bring a friendship.
