Stuck in this City with You is a series of short stories described with raw, sarcastic at times, and humor about the new world's challenges of trying to reinvent yourself while adapting to a new environment. The grief after surviving a series of losses; from the home country, to the traditions, to family and friends, to the dream of return. The guilt of escaping the economic collapse; the survivor's guilt. The loneliness and isolation which exponentially intensified when COVID entered and shattered our lives. As values, mindset, and the general outlook of life changes while trying to navigate life in the "adopted" country, challenges of being an immigrant mother to US-born children offer a new opportunity for growth. Growth happens painfully and slowly but changes you to the core and then the unexpected happens. The realization that home is where love is.
