What is Growing in the Garden?: Flowers and Trees

This book is an excellent resource to support a garden unit, earth day celebration, and learning about plants found in a garden. Children will identify various types of flowers and label parts of a flower and tree. They will develop word and object recognition. They will also identify a garden as a place in their community. After reading the story, parents and teachers have avenues to embed numerous activities and to elicit children to develop math, reading, communication, social and science skills. Additionally, the book includes adapted pictures with words and activities.
