Whitney's figure is an instant hit with boys, and the comments mortify her.
After her father's sudden death, Whitney finds herself in a new high school in California. She wants a first kiss and Freddy to like her for herself.
Freddy is crazy about Whitney. She's funny and pretty, but what would she think if she knew he punched his drunk dad, knocking him to the floor, to protect his mom?
Then Freddy is asked to play for the Christmas musical, and the stage is set. Whitney has the lead.
