Steve Brodie is is trying to escape both the stardom of Los Angeles and his troubled past when he moves to Buxton North Carolina to work as a DJ at a local station. The quiet small island allows him to escape the celebrity of being famous in the growing MTV world of 1985.
But he can't escape his past. On a late night run on the beach of Cape Hatteras, he stumbles on a terrifying discovery. A woman's body, horribly mutilated, brings fear and hysteria to the island. Soon, people are pointing their fingers at Steve, the new unknown among the close knit community. Some find him easy to blame, the stranger, the person bringing loud rock music to the teens who defend him and his music.

Anger, distrust, and manipulation come from the most unexpected sources, as a narrow minded group of locals try to both blame Steve as well as his new friends and supporters. Things go from scary, to violent, to deadly.
With the death toll mounting, Steve begins to wonder if there is more to the strange happenings, and how he has become central to it. An old and dark enemy has reared its head, hidden in the coastal forests. Fear and rage escape from once controlled and trapped thoughts, letting a strange beast and its minions out to hunt and kill. The people of Hatteras will face a demon, or more, in the darkness of a summer night as the sounds of death are in the air, in Midnight Radio.
