Jane Bell finds herself alone again. Orphaned by fifteen, betrayed by her aunt and left behind by her friends, Jane wonders where she fits in the world. Guided by her faith and the lessons she has learned from eighties and nineties romantic comedies, Jane begins a journey to find her path.

Along the way, she slips into the lives of an enigmatic stranger, Nick Edwards, and his gifted, nine-year old daughter, Olivia. As Jane becomes more entangled in their world, she fears the secrets of his past and the bigger secret he's keeping from his daughter will keep them apart.
