By all appearances, Mia Montgomery has it all: a successful career in music, a great apartment in L.A., and Julie-her best friend since kindergarten. What Mia doesn't have is the man she's been in love with since they were teenagers: Julie's brother, Elliott.

Mia expects to spend a trip home writing new songs for her band and reconnecting with Julie. But then there's Elliott, shirtless in the kitchen of his parents' house on her first night back, and it doesn't take him long to suggest a mutually beneficial arrangement while Mia's in town.

Torn between a decades-old promise to Julie, a growing friendship with Elliott's daughter, and her own desires, Mia navigates the complexities of pursuing anything with Elliott-especially when they both seem all too willing to break the rules they've put in place.
