Pit: Part One

Welcome to Penumbra, the other half of Earth. Like sides of a coin, these two worlds exist on one interconnected planet. Earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches, wildfires, tsunamis. When natural disasters devastate the lands on Earth, Penumbra succumbs to the same problems. But this unique world, however, has an ace up its sleeve.

On the east coast of Penumbra, the College of Adarius welcomes gifted humans to harness the ability of elemental magic in its campus of mages. The school takes matters into its own hands and attacks the unbalance with proactive endeavors. Every four years, one such event provides unrivaled success for maintaining the harmony. The Pit is a sadistic tournament where lottery-selected mages are chosen to compete in a deathmatch of the elements. With Earth and Penumbra in dire situations, their fate now rests in the hands of its five competitors.

As the end of year approaches, the cold winds of December are thrashing against the campus. The winter solstice is nearing. The Pit Selection Ceremony is upon us. The time has come to fix what is broken. Brace for summoning day.
