It Seemed A Good Idea At The Time, is the second volume of my memoirs, after a horrendous motorcycle crash in England, which almost ended my life.
The first volume, Searching For The Summer, details the five years of my recovery after the crash. I had to cope with a complete leg amputation, permanent damage to an arm and the loss of all my licenses to operate vehicles, motorbikes, trucks and airplanes. In addition, my wife decided to move on to new pastures.
I made my own decision to move to new pastures by emigrating to the United States, where the opportunities, climate and facilities were much better than in the Victorian land of my birth.
It Seemed A Good Idea At The Time begins the day after Searching For The Summer ends and tells the story of a disabled immigrant starting life anew in a foreign land.
You will share with me my journey through dating, living, making friends and getting married, as well as many other things that I experienced in the years following my arrival on the shores of the United States of America.
