Ears to Hear

Doc Zippy sees Boom Boom, an elephant who needs hearing aids. Zippy finds ways to help Boom Boom get over his fears of being different in school. Zippy also helps Boom Boom picture the new world of confidence and activities that he'll be able to enjoy with his new ears. Author Kriss includes personal examples from her own lifelong profound hearing loss. Illustrator daughter Angel (and human hearing aid with ironically supersonic hearing of her own) captures imagery and concepts from real family & school situations.

Zippy's insights and "Hoovescriptions" guide his patients through common worries and challenges faced by young children. New ways of thinking, encouragement, and solutions empower each patient in the series to conquer the challenges, and to celebrate the positive impacts they can have on others.
